It has been a long time since i posted anything. there were many half attempts in writing one but somehow things didnt fit. The singular reason being my laziness. mea culpa.
...So its time i revisit my nearly forbidden site.... finally there was time to refurbish my blog-site. i like the camouflage the dark color settings gives to my writings. but i still loathe the traffic signals right above the blog. Shouldnt be cribbing too much if i'm not blogging often.
My cousin got married recently & the occasion demanded a formal wear. Me & my brother decided to go for the suit while satish (anu's brother) went for the sherwani. Apparently the suit suited me well for there were audible gasps in the hall when i was around & my aunts spent a minute more with me to talk about my well being... The function was a lot of fun. We kept teasing Anu & Rajesh most of the marriage. The couple looked charming together. Anu especially was looking awesome!
...After the marriage, I went to trissur (www.thrissur.com) with my parents & relatives to attend the reception there. We arrived in trissur the previous day & checked in the local hotel. It was located in the heart of the town, in MG Rd, & we were given the 6th floor. The view from the room spanned the entire town. the place was way too rustic & green for my eyes & i really love the place. There is a huge Shiva temple right opposite to the hotel & the locals say that the town is built around it. 'Theocentric' place, shall i add. The food though, i wouldnt say was heavenly, just typical kerala food with lots of coconut oil ...but it was ok, i'm used to it.... After resting awhile we went to rajesh's home. it is located about 10kms from the hotel we stayed, and the house seemed to be in the middle of a small forest. the road leading to the house was so narrow that two vehicles cannot cross each other unless one decides to take his vehicle into a nearby house. i sweared to god i'll never bring me car to a place like that ....we settled down & while the elders were talking about the weather & nearby temples to visit & other such interesting stuffs, me, my brother & my cousin decided to slip away from the place & check out the weather ourselves. As we were walking along a nearby field a local there came upto us & asked
'Saarina desam enda?'
I said '..er Rajesh veedu', then satish added 'RAJVIHAAR' pointing to the house.
the man looked a bit puzzled and modified the question.
Now i thought he wants to know what we were to Rajesh, so i decently said 'naangal rajeshikki relatives aaganam' satish trying to make it easier for the man, said 'sambandigal aakkum'.
By now the man giving up said 'Me kerala... you where?'
'tamil nadu le chennai.....er.. actually bangalore ...' i replied, embarassingly.
we heard a relieved 'good' from the man before he left the place. all the while my brother was having good fun hearing our replies to him. ....'so much for my malayalam' i thought. I'm sure Anu is going see lot more of these when she stays there ;)
...i later hear that 'sambandigal' was a local pallya they make. had a hearty laugh after hearing it from rajesh.
