So, has Indian Circket come to its Zenith? If one gives a second thought to this tour to Australia, one must admit that this is a far more matured Indian team than what we have seen in the past. There were days when it used to give to the Zimbabwe fans every bit to cheer about. And even on our side, every Indian fan used to feel absolutely esctatic when Robin Singh somehow managed to pull it off with a ball or two to spare. And then there were days when everyone were busy with all sorts equations to see if India can make it to the finals/semis. I'm not criticising them but only feeling pity about the state of the team. But in the recent past the team has been able display tremendous talent & class, consistently enough not to disregard it as a fluke. Right from the England series, the Ind-Pak ODIs in dhaka & now the test series in Australia. My feeling towards every Indian victory has turned from one of exaltation to one of being proud & elated.
So does this team compare with any dream team of the past? Maybe not. I still feel it has a long way to go as far as bowling & fielding is concerned. Think of the WI team during the 70's. Now that was really legendary, two decades of absolute dominance.
It should not be hard for india to produce such a team.Surely India must have the best team in the world by virtue of its sheer number. I mean, you are bound to find a Sachin, a Wasim or a Lara. It just a matter of identifying them & honing their skills. So let them pour money on Akram, Reed & a host of other part-time and new-found coaches. Nevermind, but at the same time they should think of producing class players at lower levels. Let's see. It's only a matter of time.

I decided to dedicate this piece of blog to my car.
When something is very dear to you & you are afraid you will hurt it when you are with it, the best you end up doing is admire it from a corner.
Recently, I bought an S10 and quite naturally, I love it a lot. Although 'I know to drive' a car, I simply could not gather courage to drive it. And there are reasons for it.
The other day I took the car on a small drive around the locality. My dad decided to accompany me & we both started at around 7:15ish in the morning. I checked the rear view mirrors, adjusted the seat & started the car. Things were moving at a gentle pace. I soon found myself looking more at the vehicles around me than at the road ahead. I guessed it happens when you are too wary. As I was saying, things were going peacefully until my car decided to test me & stalled when I slowed down at an intersection. God! You should hear the honking sound of the vehicles on all four directions. It's enough to make anyone go mad! There was a tempo right in front of me honking big time & there was a zen behind doing his bit. Added to that there were these onlookers, the two-wheelers giving me the stares & slipping through the gaps they could find. What the hell did they expect me to do? lift my car up & place it on the side of the road! (Even as I write this I find my heart pumping a shade faster than usual). My dad tried to help me screaming that he wanted to take over the steering. I said i can manage & started the engine again. The tempo-wala got bored of honking & made room for me to go. slowly, I turned my car towards safety. But our chap in zen had other ideas. He didnt care much about me moving out of the place instead, he swerved his car to take the empty space. My dad was quick to notice it, and applied the hand brakes. That was the second time I halted the car. Aaargh!! This time I thought i had enough. Quickly started the car & drove off from the place. The whole episode happened for maybe a minute or so but it sure is enough to last forever.

If there is something I hate about b'lore then it surely is the traffic.
On the positive side, I must say I felt driving a lot better after that day, for I did drive to Jayanagar :)
